Reclaimed wood & shiplap inspired walls give traditional farmhouse feel a fresh appeal. Many modern farmhouse kitchens boast clean lines and understated tones with rustic touches that feel warm and inviting.
What exactly makes a kitchen "Modern Farmhouse" standard? There a few elements that seem to give a kitchen the stamp of approval. Warm woods, a farmhouse sink, modern lighting and a pretty faucet all work together to bring to right balance of farmhouse charm and a crisp modern space that everyone can enjoy. Here are a few of my recent favorites I’ve been inspired by.
Love That Accent
Can we talk about that beautiful wood vent hood for a minute? I love seeing this style element popping up in beautifully designed kitchens recently. It adds so much warmth to this space and really pops next to the grey cabinets.

Perfect Contrast
This modern industrial light fixture, set against that white wood plank wall, is perfectly modern farmhouse. They did a great job tying it into the space by adding other dark elements like the table and pillows.

Cooking With Style
This Jenny Komenda kitchen has it all. The beautiful wood shelving, black light fixtures, the white shiplap walls and ceilings, brass faucet, along with that gorgeous Turkish rug tie this kitchen together perfectly. I feel like I could cook anything in this space - as long as I don't have to do the dishes.
